Joe Robbie and entertainer Danny Thomas land the AFL's first expansion franchise for $7.5M. Under first coach George Wilson, the young Dolphins play at the Orange Bowl and endure expansion growing pains β€” never finishing above .500, but drafting the cornerstones of a dynasty to come.
